Service Description: Soil erosion index is an assessment of how susceptible a given soil type is to water erosion. A higher soil erosion index value indicates a soil type that is more susceptible to erosion. Such information is valuable for planning purposes such as transportation and residential development, as well as serving as an additional source of information for USDA NRCS agricultural and conservation assistance programs.
